Athletic Program
The philosophy of our school athletic program is to teach, develop and exemplify Christian character while emphasizing the principles of good sportsmanship. Although winning competitions is not the primary goal, SHCA strives to field competitive teams in all the sports in which it competes.
Athletic Association
The SHCA Athletic Association serves in an advisory role to provide athletic opportunities for SHCA students through Diocesan and community competition and intramural activities. It does this by supplying the necessary personnel, equipment, and facilities to carry out the athletic program at SHCA.

SHCA Coaches Commitment
The appointment of coaches is vital if an athletic program is to reflect Christian values. SHCA does not select coaches just on their knowledge of the sport, but also on their potential as a youth minister who will reflect and model Christian values. Coaches must commit to the requirements by digitally signing the online Commitment and Requirements form below:
Though we much prefer you to use the online form above, as an alternative you may also print out, read, sign, and turn in this document to the Athletic Director:
Parents and Guardians Athletics Pledge
Good behavior from parents and other spectators helps ensure a positive sports experience for every athlete. Parent behavior trickles down to the players and teams. Parents and Guardians must commit to the requirements by digitally signing the online Athletics Pledge form below:

Sports Program Descriptions
The SHCA sports programs aim to improve the physical ability and skills of the student athletes while supplying a fun and rewarding activity to all the participants. The documents below describe the requirements of each program, and the progression of skills coaches will aid athletes in mastering during their time playing the sport at SHCA.
Team Parent
A SHCA students' involvement in athletics requires parents or guardians to volunteer as needed - along with all other families taking part in the athletic program. Volunteering includes working at home games collecting entrance fees, running concessions, selling raffles, etc.
Each team at the school also must have a volunteer to serve as Team Parent to coordinate all volunteer activities for the team. Here is a document that describes the Role of the Team Parent.
In addition, here is a document that describes Coach and Parent Duties at SHCA Volleyball and Basketball Games.
